Kenyan singer Mwanaisha Abdalla alias Nyota Ndogo experienced such a moment recently when her Danish husband, Henning Nielsen, surprised her with a gift worth Sh 3 Million. The artist was over the moon and couldn’t contain her joy, as she shared this beautiful moment with her fans on her Instagram page.
On September 14, Nyota Ndogo took to social media where she teased her followers with the promise of big news coming the next day, thanks to her husband’s kind, sweet and thoughtful gesture.
Pregnancy
Nyota Ndogo, a mother of two broke down in tears of joy when she found out that her 60-year-old husband had done for her right after she announced her pregnancy news online.
“Wapenzi kwa Sauzi, navyoandika ujumbe huu, machozi yanani-dondoka maana alichonifanyia mume wangu ni kitu kikubwa na chandoto yangu.
“Kesho niko na habari muhimu sana, mume wangu kanipa zawadi. Nitawaambia saa kumi na moja hasubui, maana nikiingia kazini saa kumi na mbili hasubui. Hii nayo lazima tutashare tu. Wale wa wewe, mawe mambo mengine jiekee. Let me tell you, siwezi kuficha kitu kizuri,” Nyota Ndogo wrote.
The following day, the 42-year-old revealed that her husband had bought her land worth Sh 3 Million.
Nyota’s husband gifted her the land and made it clear that it was in her name. Nyota, who runs a restaurant in Voi, expressed her plans to build a hotel on the newly acquired property.
“Ningependa kuwatangazia kwamba mume wangu amenipa zawadi ya ploti ambayo ukubwa wake ni 100 kwa 100.
“Ananiambia nandika jina lako, hii ni yako kwa sababu unanipenda kweli. Ploti yenyewe imenunuliwa milioni tatu na ipo Voi. Sasa, Inshallah, tujenge mkahawa wetu pendwa,” she wrote.
She reassured them that while progress takes time, she is not in a hurry to rush her dreams.

18-year age difference
Nyota Ndogo recently hit back at critics castigating her for getting pregnant ‘in old age’ saying she is still a ‘baby’ and well-equipped to conceive. The two lovebirds got married in a colourful ceremony in May 2016.
“Wenye kusema mimi nimzee sifai kuzaa siku yakujifungua njooni musukume nyinyi maana nyie ndio mna nguvu zakusukuma. Kwanza mimi am only 42 bado mchanga sana. Happy birthday to me, oh sorry congratulations to me,” she wrote.
She has never been shy to publicly talk about her husband’s 18 years’ age difference. In January 27, 2023, she poured her heart-felt message as he celebrated his 60th birthday.
“Happy 60th birthday my husband. Hata ufike miaka mia wewe ni Wangu mpaka mwisho. Barafu wa moyo Wangu nakupendaa ama nitasema vipi kwa Kiswahili. The ice cube of my heart. Enjoy your day,” Nyota wrote.
Brief separation
Nyota Ndogo’s pregnancy comes as a shock to many given that her husband dumped her for months after she pranked him for being pregnant.
April Fool’s Day prank in 2021 briefly made the Danish separate from his Kenyan wife.
The Coast-based singer explained that her husband was angry over the pregnancy prank she played on him on April Fool’s Day.
The mother of two said that Nielsen was agitated by her pregnancy prank because they had agreed not to have any child.
According to Nyota, the Danish did not want to have children since he felt that her two children and his own three children were enough.
“We talked about having children, he said we have five of them, we don’t need another one. By five children, he meant my daughter and son, and his own three children. He then argued that he is an adult, with grandchildren. He said, ‘I want when I retire and come to Kenya, we travel all over the world, and not baby sitting’,” Nyota Ndogo said.
For months, Nyota Ndogo publicly and privately begged her husband to forgive her in vain.

Nyota and her mzungu husband however got back together in September 2021.
It’s not clear what made the Danish change his mind to have a baby with his wife – seven years after their wedding.
