Kenyan media personality and comedian Oga Obinna has opened up about his absence from Mulamwah’s recent comedy show, revealing that he simply wasn’t invited and had in fact been blocked on Instagram by the host himself.
Speaking candidly, Obinna explained that he learned of the event like everyone else online but was surprised to find out he had been blocked by Mulamwah, leaving him in the dark about the show altogether.
Mulamwah later confirmed the block and provided clarity on why he decided to cut ties with Obinna, as well as fellow content creator Dem Wa Facebook. According to Mulamwah, the decision stemmed from a particular incident involving a joke made by comedian Akinyi.
The joke, which compared Mulamwah’s young son to the late Papa Shirandula, was found offensive by Mulamwah. What seemingly added insult to injury was Obinna’s reaction he laughed.
For Mulamwah, that reaction crossed a line. “He laughed at a joke that was clearly distasteful and disrespectful to my son. That’s where I drew the line,” Mulamwah reportedly shared, explaining why Obinna was blocked and excluded from his event.
The situation highlights the ongoing tensions within the local entertainment scene, where personal boundaries and public humor can often clash.
As of now, Obinna has not responded directly to the reason given by Mulamwah, but the story continues to stir conversations on respect, friendships, and the limits of comedy.
