Winnie Odinga, a Member of Parliament in the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA), has undergone surgery after sustaining a leg injury during the East African Community (EAC) Parliamentary games.
The games were held in Rwanda and members of the EALA were featured in said games
The daughter of Azimio principle Raila Odinga ruptured her Achilles tendon during the event.

Winnie confirms surgery
In a statement, she confirmed that the surgery was successful, and she is recovering well.
However, Winnie Odinga did not disclose where the surgery took place or whether she is still in the hospital.
She expressed gratitude for the well-wishes and mentioned that she would be low-key for a while to focus on her recovery.
Odinga, known for her active participation in sports, was part of the Kenyan delegation that participated in netball games at the EAC Parliamentary Games in Rwanda.
The East Africa Parliamentary Games took place from December 8 to December 19.

Social media hiatus
Winnie had gone silent on social media which prompted speculations on what could have been going on.
Odinga’s daughter is known to have a well-versed social media engagement tapping into her peers.
One such notable peer is Kenya rapper Breeder whom the EALA Member has collaborated on several occasions.
However, do not expect Winnie back on your timeline very soon as she shared her intentions on social media.
Winnie went on to confirm that she would be offline from social for a while for her recovery.
“I’m all good after surgery but I’ll be low-key for a bit” she shared on her Instagram stories.
