South African 800m Olympic champion Caster Semenya and her wife Violet Raseboya recently celebrated their 7th wedding anniversary.
Semenya and her wife Violet shared some inspiring words on their respective Instagram accounts about their love for each other.
The wedding anniversary celebrations coincided with the gold medalist Semenya’s 33rd birthday.
“As we celebrate our union and my birthday, I am happy to say I love the growth and our maturity in this journey, may we continue to love, care, support and respect each other. Salute,” Semenya posted on her Instagram page.

On the other hand, Caster’s wife, Violet Raseboya posted on her Instagram account to celebrate their journey in marriage.
“We have been together for 14 years, Married for 7 years ,This is the kind of person you’ve been- Stubborn, Strict, Craze, a lovely partner, a caring heart, a cheerful friend, and an attentive mother to our kids. I love you with all my heart . Happy 7th Anniversary to us.”

At the same time, their fans, friends and family members reacted to the duo’s special anniversary with congratulatory messages and positive wishes.
During an interview with local media, Semenya had shared a story about how she met Violet and how they started dating.
“We met in a restroom in 2007. She was a runner and was being escorted by doping officials. She thought I was a boy and said ‘What is a boy doing in here?’” Semenya stated.
The Olympic champion added that she had feelings for Violet who had a boyfriend at that time, as she also attempted to deny being in love with a woman.
According to Semenya, it was not easy for them to start dating but she is happy that they ended up in a marriage.
