One person has been confirmed dead and several houses torched in a suspected Al-Shabaab attack in Widhu area, Lamu County.
The attack occurred on Tuesday, September 19 night when unspecified number of Al-Shabaab gunmen raided the village.
The gunmen proceeded to cause mayhem and burn houses before fleeing.
Similar terror attack
In a similar attack in August this year, two people were killed and nine houses torched after suspected terrorists attacked motorists in Lango la Simba area and Salama Village.
More than 20 families were left homeless following the August attack that did not spare the Redeemed Gospel Church too.
The latest attack happens even as a major operation is ongoing to rid the area of Al-Shabaab militants.
The government has imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew in some areas regarded dangerous in Lamu West Constituency, an area bordering Somalia.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki is in the neighbouring Tana River County for a visit.
