Oparanya: “Kenya Kwanza wants me to join them”

Former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya now says that his recent woe with the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) is politically instigated.

According to Oparanya, President William Ruto’s government is using EACC and trumped-up graft charges to cow him into joining Kenya Kwanza.

According to Oparanya, the government tried to convince him to abandon Raila Odinga-led Azimio-One Kenya Coalition and join President Ruto’s side.

“Kenya Kwanza wants me to join the government and abandon the opposition. Ruto has Mudavadi and Wetangula. Let him stick to them and leave me alone,” Oparanya said on Monday, August 28 while in Vihiga County.

Oparanya maintains that no amount of intimidation can get him to betray Raila.

Oparanya is the ODM Deputy Party Leader alongside former Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho.
