A majority of Kenyans say that Principal Secretary Dr. Raymond Omollo should be retained in his position at the State Department for Internal Security, this is according to a survey by Politrack Africa.
The survey, conducted across all the 47 Counties between 10th and 15th August, 2024, sought to assess the public opinion of Kenyans on potential changes with the re-organisation of Kenya Kwanza Administration’s executive, in the wake of the designing of a broad-based government.
Based on their performance, 63.1% of the 11,861 registered voters approached by the survey said that PS Omollo should be retained in his current docket at the Interior Ministry.
The survey also showed that generally, 67.4% of the respondents said that PS Omollo should be retained in case of a Principal Secretaries Reshuffle.
The opinion poll also showed that Kenyans want Betsy Muthoni Njagi (State Department for Blue Economy & Fisheries), Korir Sing’Oei (State Department for Foreign Affairs), and Teresia Mbaika Malokwe (State Department for Irrigation) assigned to another portfolio in case of a possible principal secretaries dissolution.
The survey, released on Tuesday, August 20, shows that 77% of Kenyans support the call to merge or dissolve some state departments.
