“Our goals are beyond Kenya Kwanza… we will not fold” – Party associated with Amason Kingi tells UDA

National NewsNews

Pamoja Africa Alliance (PAA), a party associated with Senate Speaker Amason Kingi, has said it will not fold and join UDA Party.

PAA Secretary General Lucas Maitha says the party’s goals are beyond Kenya Kwanza Alliance.

Maitha has blasted both the idea of forming one part as well as UDA Secretary General Cleophas Malala of being obsessed with the next general election.

“We are in Kenya Kwanza according to the agreement and we will continue to be members but we will not fold our party PAA because our goals are beyond Kenya Kwanza,” Maitha said during a party engagement meeting in Likoni, Mombasa County.

Elect PAA candidates

Maitha also urged Coastal residents to register as PAA members in huge numbers, if the region is to have a say in the subsequent governments.

“In the next general election if we succeed in getting more than 15 elective seats we will be able to sit on the succession table. Whoever will take over from Ruto we will talk with him directly. If we fold our party we will not sit on the table,” Maitha added.

In the next general election, Maitha proposes that Kenya Kwanza Alliance adopt zoning of regions based on parties. This, he says, will consolidate numbers for the coalition instead of competing against each other.

The party has three elected MPs and 16 MCAs spread across Kwale, Kilifi and Taita Taveta counties.
