Engineer Chief Magistrate L. Atamba has sentenced a middle aged man to life imprisonment after he was found guilty of defiling a 15-year-old girl.

David Kimani Njuguna was also sentenced to 40 years imprisonment on two other counts of causing grevious harm to the girl and another boy aged 3.

While delivering his ruling, Atamba stated that evidence present before court proved beyond reasonable doubt that the accused person committed the offence on 27th May 2024 at Matura village in Magumu location, Nyandarua County.

Kimani who is a neighbour to the minors committed the offence at around 2.00pm when the victims were in a grazing field.

He is also facing charges of killing Brian Kinyua, aged 2 years, at the Olkalou High Court with judgement due in April this year.

Muthoni Muiya, who represented the minor’s family on pro bono basis as well as family members, welcomed the ruling terming it as a great lesson to those with a habit of preying on minors.

She expressed optimism that the high court in Olkalou will also render ruling in their favour.

Prior to committing the offences, Kimani was out on bond after he was charged with killing his son.
