Over 10 businesses reduced to ashes after fire outbreak in Limuru

More than ten business premises have been burnt to ashes in Limuru bus park, Kiambu County, during a fire outbreak on Thursday March 13, 2025 in the morning.

The fire outbreak caused huge losses to many traders who were carrying out their daily activities at the bus park, although the cause of the fire remains unknown.

According to the victims, they were informed about the tragedy that occurred at around 4:00 am, and their efforts to fight the fire bore no fruit with fire engines arriving late.

Many of the affected businessmen are now pleading with the Kiambu County government to increase the emergency disaster fund to provide assistance to all the affected persons.

However, no single person lost life following the fire incident whose cause has not been identified as police continue with investigations.

The incident comes a few days after several families were left homeless during a fire outbreak on March 1, 2025 at night in Tassia Estate in Embakasi East, Nairobi.

The incident was confirmed by Embakasi East Member of Parliament (MP) Babu Owino in a video he shared on his social media accounts.

”Pray for us as fire is currently razing down houses at Tassia, Embakasi East. Property worth millions was destroyed, and children, men, and women were left homeless, and forced to spend the night in the cold. What a sad night in Embakasi East,” Babu Owino stated.

According to the police, property worth millions of shillings were destroyed during the fire tragedy, near Tassia SDA church, forcing affected families to spend the night in the cold.
