Parents Beat 11-Year-Old Girl To Death For Allegedly Stealing Ksh.200

An 11-year-old girl, identified as Gabriela Atieno, tragically lost her life in Masita village, Bondo sub-county, Siaya County.

Allegedly, she succumbed to injuries inflicted by her parents after they accused her of stealing Ksh 200 from her father, Cornel Ogeno.

The distressing incident unfolded when the parents reportedly discovered the missing money, leading to them subjecting Gabriela to severe beatings.

The parents, in their attempt to discipline her, allegedly used corporal punishment repeatedly until the young girl lost consciousness.

Siaya County Police Commander, Mr Cleti Kimaiyo, revealed that the parents rushed the unconscious

Gabriela to Bondo sub-county hospital, where she was pronounced dead upon arrival.

A nurse at the hospital reported to the authorities that the child’s lifeless body exhibited multiple bruises, indicating the severity of the abuse.

Upon receiving this distressing information, police officers promptly visited the hospital.

Confirming the grim scene at the casualty unit where Gabriela Atieno lifeless body lay, adorned with visible injuries.

Mr Kimaiyo, while addressing the media, confirmed the arrest of both parents in connection with the incident.

The authorities have initiated further investigations into the circumstances surrounding Gabriela’s untimely demise.

Gabriela’s Ordeal

The body, bearing the evidence of the traumatic ordeal in the form of multiple visible injuries, has been transferred to Bondo sub-county hospital mortuary.

Awaiting autopsy, the mortuary will play a crucial role in determining the exact cause of Gabriela Atieno’s death.
