Pastor Victor Kanyari’s younger sister, Starlet Wahu, was buried barely three days after she was murdered raising eyebrows among netizens.
Just days after her brutal murder, she was laid to rest in haste, a saddening and harrowing reality that gripped the community’s attention.
The discovery of Wahu’s lifeless body at a South B-based Airbnb sent shockwaves through the neighborhood and fueled viral discussions for two days, setting tongues wagging.
Police swiftly apprehended the prime suspect, John Matara, who remains in custody, casting a pall of suspicion and grief over the entire ordeal.
Consequently, Pastor Kanyari revealed the heartbreaking urgency behind the rapid burial of his beloved sister during an emotional sermon at his church.
He recounted the somber decision he made, advocating for a swift farewell.
Within just three days, from her tragic demise on Thursday to a hushed burial on Saturday at 8 AM, only twenty mourners bid farewell to Wahu as she was laid to rest.
“Niliambia mama yangu, kwa maana amekufa na hatafufuka, tumzike.“
“Alikufa Thursday saa kumi asubuhi, Friday tukatayarisha kila kitu, Saturday saa mbili tukamzika tukiwa watu ishirini peke yake, na hio mazishi ikaisha.”
The pastor adamantly expressed his refusal to solicit funds or support from others, staunchly declaring his commitment to personally finance and oversee every aspect of his sister’s funeral.

“Hatukutaka aibu na hatukutaka mchango. Wale walikua wananitumia mchango nilikua narudisha.”
“Nilisema sitaki kuchangiwa mazishi ya sister yangu, nitatoa pesa zote na nitasimamia mambo yote ya mazishi.”
He staunchly refused any form of fundraising, opting to shoulder the financial burden himself.
In a touching revelation, Pastor Kanyari highlighted the fatal mistake his sister made—placing trust in an unfamiliar individual.
“Aliamini mtu hajui, na akaamini mpaka kulala na huyo mtu, wakalala na yeye, maana pale kulipatika vitu za kupima ukimwi, condoms kwa hivyo alienda kulala na mtu ambaye hajui, kumbe ni muuaji. Amekufa na miaka ishirini na nne.”
Amidst his grief, Kanyari lamented Wahu’s young age, emphasizing that she had barely lived, her promising life cut short at the tender age of twenty-four.
With a solemn reminder of life’s inevitable end, the pastor concluded his sermon by saying everyone will die.

How Did Starlet Wahu Die?
Subsequently, Wahu died as a result of excessive bleeding caused by stabbing, according to a post-mortem examination performed on her body on Friday.
According to police reports, there were signs of a struggle between Wahu and her killer, as the scene appeared bloody, disorganised, and chaotic.
At the scene, police also discovered HIV testing kits, used condoms, bhang, a bottle of alcohol, and a blood-stained kitchen knife, which was believed to be the murder weapon.
Moreover, these findings raised significant questions about the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Sunday evening said investigations currently point to “a possible serial sexual offender who thrives on blackmail to his victims,”
Adding, they could be part of a criminal ring that targets women on dating sites and social media.
