The church has come under fire over its silence in the ongoing debate on the proposed Finance Bill 2024 and Pastor Ng’ang’a’s voice has added a new twist.

Pastor Ng’ang’a didn’t hold back, slamming MPs who said ‘Yes’ to the Finance Bill, accusing them of being big fat liars who broke promises to Kenyan voters.

You gotta stick to your promises, or you’re just a liar, no matter who you are. If the government’s for the people, then hear us out. When you step into Parliament, you’ve got the whole country in your hands, so judge right!” Pastor Ng’ang’a told his congregation.

His participation is significant as a Religious leader and will draw more people to march to the streets in solidarity.

The proposed Financial Bill 2024 has sparked a heated debate online with many vowing to take to the streets in protest and to air their frustration and anger towards the Kenya Kwanza regime.

The maandamano’s are a way to show solidarity on the proposed additional taxes on the punitive Finance Bill 2024 arguing that the imposed taxes will further aggravate the financial burdens of the already struggling Kenyans.

The anti-Finance Bill 2024 scheduled for 25th June, 2024 is termed as the mother of all maandamano’s and so far the movement has gone global with the hashtag #RejectFinanceBill2024 becoming one of the most trending topics worldwide with over 2 million posts.

Countries that have joined the movement apart from Kenya include: Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, The US, Netherlands, Germany, Qatar, Canada, UK, Australia and Dubai.

Young Kenyans, especially Gen Z, are leading protests against the bill, harnessing digital savvy to organize and amplify their voice via social media.

Their grassroots movement is fueled by digital prowess and social awareness, marking a significant shift in activism.

Gen Z have been louded for being bold, courageous and for championing a revolt that will revolutionize Kenya.
