Patrick Korir officially assumes role as FKF interim CEO

Patrick Korir officially began his tenure as the Interim CEO of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) today. Arriving early at FKF headquarters, Patrick was warmly welcomed by the federation’s staff, marking the beginning of a new era under his leadership.

Patrick’s appointment follows recent changes within FKF. He brings a wealth of experience, having worked extensively in football management and journalism.

With a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Egerton University and over a decade in the football industry, Patrick’s career includes roles as an IT professional, football coordinator, sports journalist, and more recently, as the CEO of Nairobi City Stars.

Upon taking office, Patrick quickly engaged with FKF staff to get up to speed on ongoing projects within the federation. His first priority was ensuring operational continuity while reassuring staff of his commitment to teamwork and leadership during this transitional period.

His focus is on driving the federation forward in light of upcoming events, including the U20 AFCON CECAFA Qualifiers, the Junior Starlets’ participation in the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, the Harambee Stars’ 2025 AFCON Qualifiers, and ongoing domestic leagues.

In a brief statement to the media, Patrick expressed his excitement about the new role, stating, “I am thrilled to take on this responsibility at such a pivotal time for Kenyan football. My goal is to ensure smooth operations while fostering growth and development across all levels of the sport in Kenya.”

As Interim CEO, Patrick will focus on ensuring that FKF’s day-to-day operations run smoothly and laying the foundation for future initiatives aimed at strengthening football structures in Kenya.
