President William Ruto has made new appointments within the senior ranks of the executive, with roles at the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK), the Executive Office of the President, and other key positions.
In the new appointments, President Ruto appointed Gerald Nyaoma Arita as the CBK Deputy Governor.
The Head of State has also appointed Prof. Adams Oloo as an advisor of strategy and communication in the President’s Council of Economic Advisors.
President Ruto has also appointed Dr Silvester Okumu Kasuku (Governance Advisor), Maj (Rtd) Ali Mahat Somane (Advisor of security affairs at the Office of the National Security Advisor), and Joe Owaka Ager (Secretary, Governance) in the President’s Council of Economic Advisors.
The new appointments has also seen political bigwigs making a comeback.
Former Murang’a Governor Mwangi wa Iria has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Public Procurement Regulatory Board.
Former Gatanga MP and presidential candidate Peter Kenneth has also been appointed as the Chairperson of the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) National Standards Council.
In other appointments, Noor Yaror Gabow is now the Consul-General at the Consulate of Kenya in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Bruno Oguda Obodha is now the Managing Director of the East African Portland Cement Company, while Douglas Murei Kaibos is the Chief Executive Officer of Central Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency.
