Renowned actor and film director Philip Karanja has revealed that he recently sold off the BMW X3 car he gifted his ex-wife Catherine Kamau alias Kate Actress.
Speaking during a local interview, Phil divulged that the vehicle’s maintenance costs were too high.
“I love cars a lot, and so I was young and foolish, and I spent so much on my car, and it has been a very expensive journey to maintain.
“I am like, that is a car I would have used wisely somewhere. I sold it. I have decided to go back on Uber,” he added.
Phil purchased the car in 2020 as a push gift for his ex-wife Kate Actress. The celebrity delivered a baby girl named Karla Njeri on December 15, 2019.
An elated Kate Actress could not hide her excitement as she shared the news with her social media fans.
“Every push has been rewarded. God says try me! Do your part! Mama K 2020 lets ride… Young queens out there, hard work, patience and perseverance still pays. Hardworking girls are still cool. Trust me,” read part of her caption.
Their daughter Njeri brought them together in December last year as they celebrated her fourth birthday despite their split.
According to posts shared by Kate Actress online, the two were featured standing side by side behind their daughter who donned a gorgeous pink gown and tiara as the crowd sang birthday songs.
“World stop. Njeri turns 4 today! Happy birthday to the most precious little girl. We love you so much, our little baby genius, may God protect you and favour you all the days of your life. Happy Birthday Baby C.E.O,” she wrote.
Phil and Kate mutually announced their breakup in September 19,2023 saying they would remain friends.
“We came to a conclusion to end our marriage a long while ago and are separated. We sincerely request everyone to honour our wishes for privacy for us and our children.
“Hii ni mambo ya watu wawili but allow us to add you to the group chat kidogo so we can proceed with our lives bila story mob. Kate Actress and I remain as friends, co-parents and business partners,” the statement read in part.
The mother of two has recently been spotted with a man named Michael on several occasions, although she is yet to confirm whether they are in a romantic relationship.
