A man in Kitengela, Kajiado County, has died after he reportedly set himself on fire inside his house in Chuna area.
Police say the deceased, who is a father of two, released cooking gas inside his bungalow with intention to kill himself on Wednesday, March 27 morning.

After the whole house was filled with the inflammable gas, the man is said to have lit a matchstick, causing a huge fire.
He was burnt beyond recognition, with the house reduced to ashes. While the househelp survived the incident, the man’s wife and children were not at home.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that the man might have been motivated to kill himself following a protracted domestic wrangles with his wife.
Neighbours say that the couple has been involved in wrangles for a while.
Confirming the incident, Isinya Sub-County Commander Patrick Manyasi said investigations had been launched.
“Preliminary investigations indicate that it was a suicide fire and we are conducting further investigations,” Manyasi said.
