Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has urged the club’s hierarchy to keep faith in him, insisting that he is the right man to lead the record English champions back to glory.
Ten Hag had a successful debut season with Manchester United, leading them to their first trophy in six years. However, his second season has been marred by turbulence, and his job has come under scrutiny.
United has lost six of their opening 14 Premier League matches, with Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Newcastle marking their 10th loss in 21 games in all competitions. Despite the challenges, Ten Hag maintains that the club’s owners made the right decision in hiring him.
“There will always be tough times in every journey. We are heading in the right direction. I know we will get to where we want to be. Look at my record,” Ten Hag said.

Manchester United currently sits seventh on the Premier League table with 24 points from the opening 14 matches, trailing league leaders Arsenal by 12 points (although Arsenal has played one more game).
The team is at the bottom of their Champions League group with one game left, facing the real danger of elimination, and they have already been knocked out of the Carabao Cup.
Reports have surfaced that Ten Hag has lost half of the United dressing room, with some players unhappy with his disciplinarian nature and intense training sessions.

The former Ajax manager has refuted these reports, and the club responded by banning journalists from four media houses in Tuesday’s press conference.
“Everywhere I’ve been, every season, I’ve met my targets. So, if we stick together, stick to the plan and the strategy, we will get where we want to be,” Ten Hag emphasized.
The Red Devils host Chelsea in their round 15 league tie on Wednesday, followed by matches against Bournemouth (Premier League) and Bayern Munich (Champions League) at Old Trafford, before traveling to Anfield for a league encounter with Liverpool.
