Plucky Arsenal beat Wolves to consolidate Premier League top spot

Arsenal extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to four points with a 2-1 victory over Wolves at the Emirates on Saturday, December 2, 2023, thanks to early goals from Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard.

In the chilly conditions, Arsenal made a rapid start, and the points seemed secure when Captain Odegaard doubled their lead in the 13th minute.

Saka had initially given Mikel Arteta’s team the lead in the sixth minute, benefitting from some skillful link-up play that sent him through.

With 33 points from 14 games, Arsenal leads the league, followed by champions Manchester City with 29 points, who play against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday. Liverpool and Aston Villa, also in action on Sunday, have 28 points each.
