Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Tuesday November 12, 2024 arrested a 21-year-old young man, who is suspected of murdering his employer in Kasarani, Nairobi due to dissatisfaction with his low wages.
The suspect, identified as Victor Ambeyi had only worked at the homestead for a month.
According to the DCI, he was apprehended after evidence connected him to the brutal killing of the woman believed to be his employer.
The crime took place on Sunday, November 10, 2024 in Kasarani, Nairobi, after which the suspect fled to a hiding place.
Reports indicate that he killed the woman and then concealed her body in a septic tank.
Where was the young man arrested
The detectives reported that the suspect was captured from a hideout in Kinoo, Kiambu County.
He was arrested along with his 22-year-old cousin, who had been providing him shelter after the crime was committed.
Additionally, the investigations involving the two suspects led authorities to Githurai estate, where a mobile phone was found.
Police stated that the mobile phone, belonging to the murdered woman, was discovered at a phones repair shop where the suspect had sold it.
What was discovered by the detectives
After questioning the suspects, detectives expanded their investigation to Githurai 44, where they found the deceased’s phone at a repair shop owned by 22-year-old Benjamin Kimani Mwaura, who was also arrested.
The suspects are currently being held at Kasarani Police Station in Nairobi as the investigation continue, before they are arraigned in court.
