Additionally, he stands accused of conducting a staggering 328 kidney removal surgeries on unsuspecting victims.

Selling kidneys to wealthy clients

Shockingly, the perpetrators sold harvested organs to wealthy individuals in dire need of transplants.

Fetching a staggering price of up to 10 million Pakistani rupees (approximately Ksh.5.2 million) each.

To carry out these horrifying procedures, Fawad reportedly enlisted the aid of an unnamed car mechanic.

Who administered anesthesia, further deepening the horrors of this underground operation.

The sinister gang cunningly enticed their victims from hospitals.

They whisked them away to clandestine locations for surgery.

These illicit procedures occurred across various regions, including Taxila, Lahore, and even Pakistan-administered Kashmir.

Police flabbergasted

The police shed light on their activities in Kashmir, where a lack of legislation concerning kidney transplants facilitated their sinister deeds.

Tragically, three deaths have already been confirmed.

Though Pakistan authorities are diligently verifying the full extent of the atrocities.

The shocking revelation that some victims were oblivious to the removal of their own kidneys adds another layer of horror to this nightmarish tale.

The investigation spanned nearly two months, prompted by a brave individual who came forward.

He recounted that one of the gang members had coerced him into seeking private medical treatment.

Medical examinations exposed the chilling truth – they had stolen his kidney.

Pakistan dark past

In response to this gruesome revelation, Naqvi is working alongside the Inspector General of Police of Punjab to bolster the nation’s cyber laws, aiming to eradicate online advertisements promoting illegal kidney transplants.

Their collective focus remains unwavering, dedicated to uncovering and dismantling similar criminal syndicates engaged in this grotesque trade.

It’s worth noting that Pakistan outlawed the commercial trade of human organs in 2007.

Further, a reinforced law in 2010 imposed severe penalties, including up to 10 years in prison and hefty fines for organ harvesting and trafficking.

Despite these legal measures, illegal kidney transplants have staged a disturbing resurgence in recent years, resurrecting a dark chapter in Pakistan’s history.
