Police hospitalized after gang forces him to smoke 2 rolls of bhang

A police officer is fighting for his life at Murang’a General Hospital after a malicious gang forced him to smoke two rolls of bhang while on patrol.

The officer was accompanied by his two colleagues who arrived at Kayole street to hunt down a group of narcotic traffickers.

The gang was frustrated as they claimed that in less than a half hour there were other officers who had passed by and collected bribes allowing the illegal business to continue.

“The gang claimed that not even 20 minutes had passed since the other police arrived there and took the bribe,” said a bodaboda operator who witnessed the incident.

According to him, the argument between the officer and the gang turned ugly.

Two officers managed to escape the scene but one of them was harassed to spoke marijuana.

However, the report that the Murang’a police station issued about the incident said that the officer was attacked by unknown persons.

It added that officers were sent to the area and then “a man identified as a police constable was found unconscious, witnesses said that he was forced to smoke what is believed to be cannabis”.

The officer was rushed to the hospital where he is currently being treated for excessive consumption of drugs.

Murang’a East Police Commander Mary Wakuu has said that investigations have been commenced and will ensure suspects are arrested.

“Kayole street has been under the microscope of security officers for some time due to drug trafficking,” she added.
