Three more suspects will be charged with the murder of Meru blogger Daniel Muthiani alias Sniper, Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) now says.

In a statement on Saturday, the investigative agency says the suspects were placed at the centre of Sniper’s abduction.

“Four other suspects including a police officer and a local DJ whose involvement in the heinous murder was forensically proven from the point of abduction in Meru to Mutonga River where the deceased’s body was recovered are all set to be arraigned for murder,” read part of the statement.

The three- Boniface Kithinji Njihia alias DJ Kaboom, Brian Mwenda alias Brayo and Christus Manyara Kiambi- will be arraigned on Monday, January 29 for plea taking.

They are currently in police custody after the prosecution was granted custodial orders by Kibera Law Courts.

Two other suspects namely; Vincent Muriithi and Kenneth Murangiri Guantai are set to undergo mental evaluation ahead of plea taking on the same day at Kiambu Law Courts.

“Painstaking investigations that have involved a thorough scrutiny of forensic evidence and data analysis since the taking over of the case on December 19 placed Vincent Muriithi alias Supuu at the core of the probe, right from luring the renowned tiktoker to his death trap to the recovery of the body in Chiakariga, Tharaka Nithi County,” the statement read in part.

DCI assures Kenyans that more arrests are set to take place as investigations into the gruesome murder take shape.

Meanwhile, Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza challenged detectives to produce evidence linking her family to the murder.

“They were here and declared this place a crime scene, they took all the CCTV accessories and cameras and mobile phone from my son and all the workers including the cleaner.

“They also took the data from my phone, I dare them to produce the findings or I move to court because they have severely damaged my family’s reputation. What I need is justice,” Mwangaza added.
