A team of DCI Detectives and General Duty officers from Endebess Sub-county has arrested a 27-year-old man and rescued a five-year-old child believed to have been abducted and transported to Kapnandi, Uganda.
Hosea Kiptoo Satia, a resident of Kolongei in Matumbei, is believed to have kidnapped the child on July 23, 2024. He allegedly took the child to Uganda, where the child was left with an elderly woman named Celestine Koronyeny, while Satia demanded Ksh 100,000 for the child’s release.
After several days of investigation, detectives located the suspect’s hideout. He led them to Uganda, resulting in the child’s rescue and the arrest of a second suspect.
Working with a children’s officer, the child was returned to their parents as the suspects were processed for arraignment.
The suspects have been arraigned and released on Ksh 100,000 cash bail.
