In a late-night operation on Monday, March 18, officers from Sio Port Police Station in Busia County made a significant breakthrough in the fight against drug trafficking.
Acting on tip-off, police officers on patrol intercepted a Toyota Voxy with registration number KBZ 514 Z driven by one Hesborn Wafula, a native of Namboboto, at around 1: 30 am.
Upon thorough inspection, the officers uncovered six large sacks wrapped in black polythene nylon suspected to contain narcotics in the vehicle’s boot.
The officers arrested Wafula and towed the vehicle to Sio Port Police Station pending further investigation.
The Anti-Narcotic Team is yet to determine the value of the seized drugs.
