A politician is currently under investigation in connection with the stabbing of a woman at a short-stay apartment in Kilimani last week.
According to the Patricia Muthoni Karanja, who filed a report at the Kilimani Police Station, she was invited by the politician to an entertainment venue near Kilimani.
The politician, identified as a member of the 13th Parliament, was accompanied by two other women. After a night of festivities, the group decided to stay overnight at a short-term rental apartment in the area.
However, an altercation broke out between the victim and the other two women. The victim reported that she was stabbed three times, including once in the lower abdomen.
While the exact cause of the dispute is unclear, the victim mentioned that she managed to record part of the incident while screaming for help.
Fortunately, the apartment’s security guards heard her screams and intervened before involving the police.
“They were picking forks and knives from the kitchen and attacking me as I tried to defend myself. One of them took a knife and stabbed me on this side. I was screaming and banging the door, and the guards came to the house. The guard then called the police. At the station, I couldn’t give my statement because I was unconscious,” she recounted in an interview with Citizen TV.
Kilimani Police Commander Kobia Bariu confirmed the incident and stated that investigations are underway.
The politician has already recorded his statement with the police, and one of the women involved has been arrested for the stabbing.
“The stab wound was deep, located at the lower left abdomen. Investigations are ongoing, and we will uncover the true events that transpired,” the officer reported.
