English Premier League leaders Arsenal are set to face FC Porto from Portugal in the last 16 of the 2023/24 Champions League following a draw conducted on Monday, December 18, 2023.
The Gunners previously clashed with Porto in the round of 16 in 2010, securing a 5-0 victory at home after a 2-1 loss away.
Mikel Arteta, leading Arsenal to finish atop Group B, is determined to overcome the Portuguese side and make history as the first manager to guide Arsenal to a Champions League title.
Defending champions Manchester City, topping Group G with a flawless record, will confront FC Copenhagen, who advanced from Group A alongside leaders Bayern Munich, surpassing Galatasaray and Manchester United.
City and Copenhagen have a history, facing each other four times, with City winning 5-0 and 2-1 at home, and drawing 0-0 and 2-2 in Denmark.
In the 2022/23 season, City, having achieved six wins out of six in the group stage, were seeded, while Copenhagen has reached the knockout stage for the first time since 2011.
All the teams drawn second were seeded as group winners, ensuring they will play the second leg at home. Both City and Arsenal are seeded, granting them the advantage of playing the second leg at home.
The first legs are scheduled for February 13, 14, 20, and 21, while the second legs will take place on March 5, 6, 12, and 13.
