President Ruto defends MP Ndindi Nyoro, clarifies committee reshuffle

President William Ruto has strongly defended Kiharu member of parliament (MP) Ndidi Nyoro, after his recent removal as chair of the budget and appropriations committee in the National Assembly.

Speaking during an interview on March, 31 2025, Ruto praised Nyoro as a highly capable and promising leader, emphasizing his personal mentorship of the young politician.

“Ndidi Nyoro is an outstanding gentleman, I am the one guiding him in his political journey, Ruto said,” reaffirming his confidence in the MP’s abilities.

The president also addressed concerns surrounding Nyoro’s removal, explaining that it was part of a routine Parliamentary restructuring exercise.

According to Ruto, mid-term changes in committee leadership are necessary to ensure fresh elections and maintain regional balance within the National Assembly.

He said that this move was not due to any political conflict or underperformance but was simply a procedural change.

Nyoro who has been serving as an MP in Kiharu since august 2017, is a member of the United Democratic Alliance(UDA) under the Kenya Kwanza coalition.

He has gained recognition for his strong leadership particularly in his development initiatives and he is considered one of most influential young politicians in Kenya.

Apart from his role in politics, Nyoro has an entrepreneurial background which has contributed to his reputation as a self driven leader.

His performance as an MP has earned him widespread admiration with many considering him among the best performing legislators in the country.

Recently, he was awarded the Chief of the Burning Spear (CBS) honor recognizing his dedication to improving his constituency.

Ruto’s continued support for Nyoro highlights the MP’s significance within the current political landscape.

Despite his removal from the committee chairmanship, Nyoro’s political trajectory remains strong, and his contributions to governance are expected to continue shaping the National politics.
