President William Ruto has constituted a team to address issues raised by the office of former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
This was after President Ruto held discussions with Uhuru Kenyatta on Tuesday June 11, 2024 in the morning over issues raised by, Kanze Dena, the director of communications at the office of Uhuru Kenyatta on Monday June 10.
In a statement posted on his X account, State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohammed disclosed that the team will be led by head of public service Felix Koskei.
“President Ruto has consequently constituted a team, led by the Head of Public Service, to immediately address all the issues raised, including the location of the retired President’s office and the attendant staff establishment,” noted Hussein Mohammed.
Speaking during a press briefing on Monday, Kanze said that Uhuru was given old vehicles and a fuel card which was later blocked, his spokesperson Kanze Dena has said.
At the same time, she refuted claims that Uhuru enjoyed a fully furnished office and brand new cars complete with fueling financed by the State.
In addition, Kanze Dena who is the director of Communications at Uhuru’s office, revealed that no repairs were done at the office.
“On the issue of the retired President enjoying a fully furnished and maintained office space as alluded to in the statement, this took us by surprise because it is public knowledge that State House has been very clear on the position of the office in Nyari as the only office that the President should use based on the fact the office has been bought by the government,” said Kanze Dena.
The remarks emerged a few days after government spokesperson Hussein Mohammed alleged that the former Head of State had new cars and a well furnished office.
