President William Ruto was warmly welcomed in Kondele, Kisumu earlier today in his ongoing four-day tour of the Nyanza region. The head of state visited Kondele to launch several development projects among them the affordable housing units.
One of the developments is a fingerlings manufacturing facility. The facility is expected to produce 7 million fingerlings that will restock Lake Victoria and improve the living state of the local fishermen.
He added that a new project has started today of the construction of a rescue team centre, the centre will have a rescue team that will help the fishermen and people travelling by water in case of any accidents. He quoted that 5000 fishermen die every year. Ruto stated that the centre will reduce the number of deaths therefore less fishermen dying and enhanced food security.
Additionally, another project worth 3.5 billion has been allocated for improving facilities around Lake Victoria. The facilities include; transport, communication, and rescue centers. The five rescue centers will be in, Siaya, Busia, Kisumu, Homabay and Migori respectively.
The rice farmers were also not left behind, Ruto said that there will be a milling plant in Kibos that 6000 rice farmers will benefit from.
President Ruto also mentions that the affordable housing project in Lumumba will soon start. The project will be of 2300 houses out of 10,000 houses in Kisumu county. He emphasized that 10,000 youths will benefit from the project.
Furthermore, the mama mboga will benefit from the 12 markets that will be built he added that a cold room and a storage room will be available. This means that farmers will get a place to take their produce.
A new hospital is to be built worth 800million. 12000 houses are also expected to benefit from the power service worth another 800 million.
Praise to Raila Odinga
He concluded that he and Raila agreed on ending tribal politics and that they should unite and be one.
He praises Raila for being a patriot, a person who understands the importance of peace and unity, putting aside differences to unite the country for prosperity.
