President Ruto takes a swipe at Gachagua during Kindiki’s swearing-in

President William Ruto has taken a swipe at former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, insinuating that he was so myopic to focus on matters Mt Kenya region, and neglect the rest of the country.

Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony of Prof. Kithure Kindiki as the new Deputy President, President Ruto said that his government will serve all Kenyans from all regions in the country equally, regardless of whether or not they voted for Kenya Kwanza.

“Every MCA, every MP, and every Governor knows that not everyone in their ward, constituency or county voted for them,” President Ruto said amid cheers from Kenyans who attended the ceremony at KICC. “Nonetheless, they know that they have to serve all people equally.”

The first in command implored Prof. Kindiki not to fall for Gachagua’s antics, and focus on uniting all Kenyans.

“Kithure Kindiki and I have a duty to serve all Kenyans, because the government of Kenya equally belongs to all the people of Kenya,” he added.

One of the grounds of impeachment against Gachagua was inciting ethnic divisions and violating his oath of office.

Prof. Kindiki is the third deputy president of Kenya since the promulgation of the new Constitution in 2010.
