President Ruto to begin 4-day tour in Nyanza region today

President William Ruto will today commence his long awaited four-day development tour of the Nyanza region, covering four counties; Migori, Homa Bay, Siaya and Kisumu.

The president’s tour appears to have excited residents in the region and triggered a radical shift likely to see the president make a grand entry there.

The tour will begin in Migori County on Wednesday August 28, 2024 at 2 pm where he will officially launch the Kegonga Cluster Water Project.

President Ruto will thereafter conduct inspection at Lower Kuja Irrigation Project and conclude day one activities with the inauguration of the Ngere-Mapera Road.

Ruto who will be accompanied by several leaders from the region including Migori governor Ochilo Ayacko is expected to to address residents in various towns in the county.

In Homa Bay, Ruto is scheduled to commission Oyugis Water Project, inspect the Homa Bay Fish Market at Koginga beach, and launch construction of Rusinga Ring Road.

He is also expected to attend the thanks-giving ceremony for Finance Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi at Magunga area on Thursday, August 29.

On his third day of the Nyanza visit, he will be in Raila’s rural county, Siaya, where he will commission Mageta Island Solar PV Mini Grid, launch Siaya ESP market and Siaya Rice Mill before attending a thanks-giving service for Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi.

The president will conclude the tour in Kisumu County on Saturday August 31, where he will commission Kisumu Marine School, Kibos Rice Mill, Lumumba AHP and Nyabondo Trauma Centre.
