President William Ruto will Wednesday afternoon preside over the ground breaking ceremony for Luanda Modern Market in Vihiga County.
The Market has an estimated population of 1000 traders on normal days and another 2000 during market days.
Luanda Modern market is one of over 400 markets that will be constructed countrywide as the Kenya Kwanza Government seeks to provide fresh produce farmers and vendors with new technologies that will help reduce post-harvest storage losses.
Once complete, Luanda Modern Market will have a cold storage facility, an ICT hub, a food court as well as other basic needs such as water, electricity, sanitation and garbage collection centers for the 2,000 traders.
The Kenya Kwanza Government has made great progress in its commitment to construct decent, safe, secure, and modern markets across the country where traders can sell their produce in a dignified environment.
