Nyandarua County Woman Rep. Faith Gitau says that President Ruto’s visit to Mt. Kenya will bring development and goodies to the people of the region.
Speaking in Kinangop on Friday, March 21, the lawmaker said that President Ruto promised — during a meeting with Mt Kenya region leaders at State House a day before — to ensure that all the stalled projects in the region are completed in time.
President Ruto said on X that he met with the elected leaders (MPs) from Mt Kenya region to discuss progress made in the coffee, tea and dairy farming, infrastructure development, affordable housing and fresh produce markets, among other things.
“Constant consultation with elected leaders provides the best platform for deliberation on and consequently implementing transformative development programmes that benefit the citizens of our country. On this front, we are truly on course on our programmes anchored under the Bottom Up Economic Transformation Agenda,” the head of state said on X after the meeting,
Deputy President Kithure Kindiki was also present during the meeting.
This will be President Ruto’s first tour of the Mt Kenya region ever since he fell out with Rigathi Gachagua and the subsequent impeachment of the former deputy president.
Ever since the impeachment, Gachagua has turned out to be Kenya Kwanza Administration’s biggest critic, often maligning the projects rolled out by the very government he helped put in power.
