Prince Harry reportedly declined an offer from his father King Charles, to spend the anniversary of the Queen’s death at Balmoral Castle.

This decision followed his formal request, made earlier in the month.

The request was to the King’s office for royal accommodation and security for a one-night stopover.

The Prince was in London attending an event ceremony for a night.

Harry declines invite

However, a senior aide informed him that none of the family’s London residences or Windsor Castle were available.

This was because most of the staff were in the Highlands preparing for Queen Elizabeth’s anniversary.

Instead, the prince was offered the option to join the family at Balmoral, where the royal family was.

Reportedly, he declined this invitation, citing the impossibility of fitting the trip into his schedule.

Missed opportunity?

According to Ingrid Seward, an editor at Majesty Magazine, the Prince missed out on a chance to meet with his family.

Ingrid shared her perspective with The Sun, suggesting that the estranged prince missed a significant opportunity.

She believed that he should have made the effort to visit when invited by the King, even if it meant rearranging his plans.

Seward saw this as an “olive branch” offered by the King and believed that Harry could have easily adjusted his schedule.

Furthermore, she noted that Balmoral was the primary residence of the Royal Court during the summer.

Therefore this made it the most suitable place for Harry to visit under the circumstances.

Prince Harry and his wife Meghan have been estranged from the family for a while.

Consequently, Meghan and her kids opted to miss out on the Queen’s funeral over the family differences present.

The situation was not made any better with the Prince publishing his book, Spare.

In his book, he spills family secrets on wealth, power, colonialism and what really happened after.

Prince Harry has been making trips to London but it is unclear if he will engage his father in any talks.
