President William Ruto hosted several Heads of State at State House Nairobi in 2023, despite having traveled to several other countries in the same period.
A major win for President Ruto was hosting King Charles III and Queen Camilla of the British monarchy during a four-day state visit from October 31 to November 3.
Meanwhile, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz landed in Nairobi on May 5, and was received by President William Ruto and other government officials.
President Ruto and Olaf Scholz held talks focusing on economic relations and the use of renewable energies.

Meanwhile, in September 2023 during the Africa Climate Summit at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi, more than 20 presidents were present.
President Salva Kiir (South Sudan), Sahle-Work Zewde (Ethiopia), Suluhu Samia (Tanzania), Macky Sall (Senegal) and Mohamed Al-Menfi (Libya) are some of the presidents who attended the Africa Climate Summit in Nairobi.
Other Heads of State who attended the event include Azali Assoumani (Comoros), Julius Maada Bio (Sierra Leone), Evariste Ndayishimiye (Burundi), and Nana Okufu Addo (Ghana).

Kenya has also hosted other Heads of Government including Lee Hsien Loong (Singapore), Fumio Kishida (Japan) and Ebrahim Raisi (Iran).

For instance, world leaders hosted by Ruto in 2023 include International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva, World Trade Organisation (WTO) Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly.
