“Protect peaceful anti-finance bill demonstrators!” – Sakaja condemns police ‘brutality’

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has condemned the police brutality against protesters of the Finance Bill 2024/2025 in Nairobi.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony of Kihumbuini Stadium in Westlands, Sakaja highlighted the democratic right of every Kenyan to peacefully protest and voice their opinions on critical matters.

He reassured Nairobi residents that President William Ruto is aware of their concerns about the Finance Bill.

As a Governor affiliated with the ruling party, Sakaja expressed confidence that the President will address the issues raised by the demonstrators.

He emphasized the importance of listening to the common people and believed that the government, under President Ruto’s leadership, will consider the protesters’ proposals regarding the contentious finance bill.
