Ahead of this year’s Mashujaa Day, Interior Principal Secretary Dr Raymond Omollo led the National Celebrations Steering Committee members for a comprehensive inspection of Kwale Stadium, the designated host venue, along with other key facilities in the county.
Kwale Governor Fatuma Achani, fellow PSs Terry Mbaika (Devolution), Eng. Joseph Mbugua (Roads), Joel Arumonyang (Public Works) and Deputy Government Spokesperson Mwanaisha Chidzuga were present during the inspection visit.
The theme for this year’s Mashujaa Day celebrations is Affordable Housing, a priority project of President William Ruto, which he is deeply passionate about.
This program is being implemented across the country. During the Mashujaa Day celebrations, there will be demonstrations showcasing the progress made so far in affordable housing, along with other national priority programs.
The stadium has a capacity of slightly more than 10,000, and “we expect it to be filled to capacity. We will also make full provisions for additional accommodation.”
“Since Kwale is a tourist destination, we expect the economy to grow and see an increase during this period and shortly thereafter,” PS Omollo says.
