President William Ruto on Tuesday July 9, 2024 signed into law the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Amendment Bill, 2024.
This was during an event that was attended by Azimio leaders Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka at KICC in Nairobi.
Several elected leaders from both Kenya Kwanza and Azimio attended the event that was graced by President William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua.
National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula is also among other leaders who were also present during the signing of the Bill.
The bill that was passed by Parliament is based on the recommendations of the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) report.
The new IEBC law will help in establishing the country’s electoral management system, including paving way for the appointment of new IEBC commissioners.
