Grammy-nominated R&B singer Angie Stone has died at 63 after a car accident in Montgomery, Alabama, US.
The crash happened early Saturday, March 1, as she and her band traveled from Mobile to Atlanta.
Their van reportedly overturned and was hit by a truck as Stone tragically died, being among the ten passengers in the vehicle.
Born Angela Laverne Brown in Columbia, South Carolina, she started in the hip-hop group The Sequence in the late 1970s.
As a solo artist, she released hits like “No More Rain (In This Cloud)” and “Wish I Didn’t Miss You.”
She worked with artists like D’Angelo and Alicia Keys, releasing her final album, “Love Language,” in 2023.
Stone also appeared in films like The Hot Chick and The Fighting Temptations.
The three-time Grammy nominee won two Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards.
Stone is survived by two children and two grandchildren as fans and other musicians took to social media to share their tributes, mourning her loss.
