Red Cross begins rescue operation in Kitengela after floods havoc

Kenya Red Cross has began rescuing families trapped in most parts of Kitengela, Kajiado County after receiving distress calls overnight.

In a statement on social media, the organization said they were already on ground to help stranded families.

“Our teams are actively involved in helping households along Deliverance Road, Balozi Road, Baraka Road, Blessed Court, New Valley, Changombe, and KAG area.”

A lady identified as Wangari Gikonyo went viral on X (formerly Twitter) after sharing videos and tweets calling for help after she and her children were trapped in one of the rooms.
