Cristiano Ronaldo is set to extend his stay at Al-Nassr, with reports confirming that the Portuguese superstar has agreed to a contract extension until June 2026.
Ronaldo, who joined the Saudi Pro League club in January 2023 on a two-and-a-half-year deal, was initially set to see his contract expire at the end of the 2024/25 season. However, an Al-Nassr official has reportedly told AFP that both parties have reached an agreement for a renewable extension, though the contract is yet to be officially signed.
“The sides have agreed on the renewable extension of Ronaldo’s contract, but it has not been signed yet. An announcement will be made over the coming days,” the official revealed.
Ronaldo Still Going Strong at 40
The news comes just days after Ronaldo celebrated his 40th birthday on February 5. He marked the occasion in style, scoring in Al-Nassr’s 3-0 win over Al Feiha on February 6, proving he still has plenty left to offer at the highest level.
Since arriving in Saudi Arabia, Ronaldo has been instrumental in raising the league’s global profile. His goal-scoring prowess and leadership have helped Al-Nassr remain one of the strongest contenders in the Saudi Pro League.
What’s Next for Ronaldo?
With this extension, Ronaldo could continue playing beyond the 2026 FIFA World Cup, further cementing his legacy as one of football’s greatest players. An official announcement from Al-Nassr is expected in the coming days.
