Retired KDF officers extend helping hand to retirees and families of officers who died in line of duty

Retired Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) officers under the umbrella (Kenya Veterans for Peace) have extended a helping hand to their fellow retirees and families for officers who died in the line of duty.

They distributed assorted food items to the families of their departed colleagues in Machakos County, to cushion them during this hard economic times.

The Kenya Veterans for Peace was formed during the 2008 post election violence to call for peace among different communities.

Nelson Sechere, Executive Director Kenya Veterans for Peace said they are targeting all the regions, and are also doing several boreholes to contribute to the country’s food security.

Nelson Sechere says the Kenya Veterans for Peace initiative will be extended across the country.

Retired Lieutenant Colonel Moses Sande, a beneficiary of the food program, says they formed the organization after the 2008 post election violence to call for peace among different communities.

Families of KDF officers who died in the line of duty benefited from assortef food stuff.
