For years, 1824 has been a staple in Nairobi’s nightlife, redefining the city’s party culture.
More Kenyans are embracing unconventional aspects like daytime drinking, bottle service, and live DJ recordings.
Amidst the cultural shift, the competition among entrepreneurs to establish the most sophisticated party spots has intensified.
After 1824’s sudden closure that left many club-goers in disbelief, the beloved nightclub is now back, promising to deliver the same electrifying vibes but with a fresh approach.
During the closure, the club’s management took a close look at the challenges faced by Nairobi’s clubbers.
Further, it has implemented several new rules to enhance the experience while prioritizing safety and respect.
One of the club’s proprietors shared insights into the changes, emphasizing the need for safe spaces where women and men can enjoy themselves without fear of harassment.
“Nairobi women have always sought places where they can party without feeling violated,” the proprietor explained.
“Many value maturity and respect, but often the places they want to go are either too expensive or just not worth it.”
The club will feature carefully curated alcohol selections, ensuring only top-quality products from trusted distributors are available.
1824 New dress code
One of the most notable changes is the club’s dress code.
Patrons will no longer be allowed to wear football jerseys unless their team is playing that day.
“You can’t just wear a Man U jersey if it’s not game day,” the proprietor stated.
“We want everyone to look the part—on different occasions, call for different attire.”
In a progressive move, the club will also have an all-female security team, further reinforcing its commitment to creating a secure environment for all its guests.
With these changes, Club 1824 is set to reshape Nairobi’s nightlife, offering a safer, more stylish, and mature clubbing experience for all.
