Robbers beat school watchman to death in Machakos, escape with money

A watchman was fatally attacked during a robbery incident at Kyasila Secondary School in Machakos Town.

The thieves, whose exact number remains unknown, broke into the school and made away with various items and an undisclosed sum of money.

The tragic incident occurred on Monday September 9, 2024, night when the gang violently assaulted and killed the guard who bravely attempted to thwart their criminal activities.

The guard’s body was discovered in a Form Four classroom, with his hands bound behind his back.

According to the authorities, it was reported that he had a severe head injury and was found bleeding profusely hours after the robbery.

Despite being rushed to the hospital, he passed away due to his injuries.

The attackers gained entry through the fence of the nearby ABC Kyasila Church.

They then proceeded to break into the church’s kitchen store, where they stole 10 liters of cooking oil and nine kilograms of sugar.

Additionally, they went on to burglarize the principal’s and deputy principal’s offices, taking an undisclosed sum of money and other materials.

The guard’s body was taken to the mortuary for post mortem examination.

Meanwhile, no arrests have been made yet but a dedicated team of detectives is actively pursuing the culprits for legal action.
