Kileleshwa Ward member of County Assembly (MCA) Robert Alai has condemned the recent attack on Nairobi County enforcement officers at a construction site in South C.

In a statement dated February 25, 2024, Alai noted that it was wrong for any person to attack security enforcement officers in Nairobi and all over the country.

This was after a female security enforcement officer was assaulted  at a building site in the South C area (LR. No.209/22142 off Muhoho Avenue).

“The perpetrators of these vile acts must be apprehended and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I demand immediate justice for the victims,” noted Alai.

The Kileleshwa MCA added that reports of female officers being raped, and male officers being sodomized by youth at the site are a sickening blight upon the Nairobi community.

“Furthermore, I demand that the suspect construction site be immediately closed, and all building activity suspended pending a complete and thorough investigation.

“The alleged actions on this site raise serious questions about whether criminals are operating under the guise of legitimate development in Nairobi,” he explained in a statement.

Alai also alleged that top Nairobi City County enforcement and planning officers have sought to conceal the incident, likely due to Governor Johnson Sakaja’s purported personal relationship with the developer.

He at the same time, called for the immediate suspension of officers managing the construction site so that an independent investigation can take place.

“This incident highlights the urgent need for reform and accountability within Nairobi City County’s governance.

“I call upon Governor Sakaja to break his silence on this horrific incident and take action to ensure those involved, from the attackers to any complicit officials, face the consequences for their actions,” Alai noted.

The Kileleshwa MCA also called for termination of approvals associated with the construction project where security officers were assaulted in South C.
