Fiji has booked a quarterfinals date in the Rugby World Cup despite losing 23-24 to Portugal ,who recorded their first win at the tournament.

The Portugal came from 23-17 to win the match, this begin only their second appearance at the tournament.

Samuel Marques converted Rodrigo Marta’s 78th-minute try to make help the Portugees get the historic win.

Consequently these results saw Australia exist from the tournament, for the first time in history the wallabies have been knocked out of the competition at the pool stages.

The early exit leaves more questions than answers for Australia as they now focus on hosting the 2027 World Cup.

Earlier On Tonga also clinched a 45-24 win to beat Romania in the Pool B clash.

Twenty Minutes in Tonga held the lead with a score of 14. However, in the 31st minute, Conache converted Cristi Boboc’s try, reducing the lead by 11 points.

Argentina will now face Wales in their quarterfinals after beating Japan 27-39.

Argentina went ahead early in Nantes, with a try from Santiago Chocobares in just the second minute, but 2019 World Cup hosts Japan bounced back with a try of their own 15 minutes later, with Amato Fakatava the scorer.
