Gospel singer Ruth Matete experienced a deeply emotional moment when her daughter, Taoluwa Apewajoye, spontaneously recognized her father in a portrait.

This touching incident left Matete in tears.

It was the first time she had shown her beloved daughter the image of her late husband, John Apewajoye.

I have never shown her this picture. I have never had a conversation with her about this topic.

She saw the picture and said it was her dad. Tears just rolled down my face. don’t know where I got the courage to record it.”

In the video, little Taoluwa, dressed in a pink skirt and blue top, appeared animated as she gazed at the portrait before her.

She sweetly remarked, “dad,” accompanied by a heartwarming smile.

The genuine reaction deeply moved her mother, especially since she had never shared the portrait with her daughter before.

Matete then gently asked her daughter to kiss and hug the portrait, to which Taoluwa eagerly complied with the latter request.

The incident left Matete with questions about the right time to explain the situation to her daughter.

She shared her concerns, saying, “One day, I will tell her about it when she understands it.

But now I am worried. She watches cartoons and sees a family as mom, dad, sister, and brother. What if she asks me now where Daddy is? Can she understand? What will I tell her? She can’t let go of the picture since she saw it.”
