Gospel minister Ruth Matete has shared a deeply emotional moment as she introduced her daughter to a photo of her late father, John Apewajoye, for the very first time.
The revelation left Matete in awe as her daughter unexpectedly recognized her father’s face without any prior exposure to his image.
In a touching social media post, Matete expressed her astonishment, saying, “I’m so shocked! I have never shown her this picture.
I have never had a conversation with her about this topic. She saw the picture and said it’s her dad😢.
“Tears just rolled down my face. I don’t know where I got the courage to record it. 😢 One day I will tell her about it. When she can understand stuff.”
Matete also shared her concerns about how to explain her daughter’s father’s absence as she grows up.
The challenges of discussing such a sensitive topic weighed heavily on her mind.
She wondered about the day her daughter might ask about her father and how to provide answers that she could comprehend.
As her daughter clung to the image of her late father, Matete grappled with the uncertainty of how to navigate this emotional journey.

Reflecting on his final moments, she recalled his premonition of his impending fate.
In the ambulance after the accident, he expressed his doubts about survival, a notion Matete initially dismissed as fear.
During his hospitalization, he often questioned his continued existence, leaving Matete with a heavy heart.
The emotional weight of these memories serves as a constant reminder of the profound loss she and her daughter have endured.
