The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) has issued a firm call for the Judiciary to stand strong.
The LSK emphasizes the crucial role of the Judiciary.
In upholding the Constitution, rule of law, and economic and social development, cautioning against unrestrained exercise of power.
LSK President Eric Theuri, speaking during a peaceful protest, expressed unwavering support for the Judiciary.
He urged judicial officers not to be intimidated or bullied and emphasized the need for decisions based solely on the law and Constitution.

Taking a strong stance, Theuri highlighted the LSK’s commitment to defending the constitution, independence of the Judiciary, and the administration of justice.
He announced plans for members to retake oaths publicly.
Sending a clear message to the Executive that LSK will not be cowed or intimidated in defending the rule of law.
The peaceful protest in Nairobi’s CBD drew attention from prominent figures like Kalonzo Musyoka, Eugene Wamalwa, and Kivutha Kibwana.
They cautioned the president against threatening judges handling tax and levy cases, terming them as punitive.
The procession, escorted by security officers, peacefully traversed the CBD streets.

Moreover, Musyoka, addressing Chief Justice Martha Koome and her team, stood in solidarity with the Judiciary.

He stressed the importance of adhering to the rule of law, stating,
“If this country is not under the rule of law, it can only mean we are under the jungle law.”
As tensions rise, the LSK’s call for a strong and independent Judiciary.
